Critical announcements regarding our Denver and Austin markets
Denver-based general contractor Martines Palmeiro Construction (MPC) broke ground in February on Highland Development Company’s first ground-up apartment community in the Denver area, an integral addition to the West Line Village development near Sheridan Station. The project is going vertical with concrete at the garage, with the lower level garage walls beginning this week. Upon completion of the lower two levels of the garage, concrete will be poured for the apartment areas while the garage pre-cast is being completed.
An apartment complex set to fill a full city block at the edge of RiNo has broken ground. Virginia-based AvalonBay Communities said in a statement that it began construction last month on Ava RiNo. The 246-unit complex will top out at three stories. The complex is being built on the block formed by Lawrence and Arapahoe streets, and 26th and 27th streets. The single parcel has the address of 1185 26th St. AvalonBay purchased the 2.45-acre site in January 2019 for $15 million from Denver-based developer Westfield.
Martines Palmeiro Construction began construction in December on AvalonBay Communities Inc.’s first ground-up apartment community in the greater Denver area, this one in the River North Art District. With a portfolio of over 290 properties located in 12 states, AvalonBay entered the Denver market in 2017 and since then has secured land for development and acquired four communities, representing 1,086 apartment homes in Aurora, Castle Rock, Lakewood and Littleton.

“MPC is a very transparent, honest and open general contractor. Every project has its challenges, but MPC feeds us real-time information (both positive and negative) so that we are in the loop. This allows us to plan how we are going to keep the project on time and on budget.”
